Just For Fun: Writing A Story About A Horse Girl

In this article...

Join me on a creative journey as I take a break from blogging to write a fun story about a determined horse-loving girl. Meet Emma, a 15-year-old sophomore dreaming of owning her own horse while facing real-life challenges. Follow along as I develop the plot and characters and share chapters for you to enjoy!

I have taken a break from writing on the blog.

I have a very busy life being married, having the responsibility of managing the home and all that comes with it, caring for and homeschooling a high energy 5 year old boy, having 6 birds, 2 cats and a dog, family, friends and leasing a horse all while juggling adhd and pmdd.

Life is busy and I think it is for most people. So after writing for years on this blog hoping to make a living from it… hahaha not even a fraction of being close. I make pennies on the hour that I’ve worked basically. I decided to take a break and it has felt good.

So I might write a blog post here and there as I feel like it and work on sharing on social media sometimes.

But right now I feel like for fun I want to write a story about a horse girl. Now with my ADHD sometimes I get super motivated and want to do something and then all of a sudden the motivation is gone and it is so hard to continue. This could happen but for now I have the motivation so I am just going to roll with it as it comes.

The story:

So I am at the beginning stages thinking of the plot and characters and I invite you to follow me on my progress. I will post the chapters here on the blog for you to read if you wish. I don’t plan on actually creating a novel but if it happens it happens, very unlikely with my short attention span and wavering motivations.

Here are some details so far:

The main character starts off in the beginning of sophomore year in high school and is 15 years old. She lives in a small town where there are a few horse farms and riding lesson barns. She goes to a local horse farm that she has been taking weekly lessons at for a few years. She has dreams of more than just weekly lessons but that is where she is at right now. Though she got started riding horses as a young kid during summer vacations at her cousins at home ranch and has taken lessons at a few different horse farms. Right now her dream is to own a horse but her parents don’t have the extra money to comfortably afford owning a horse, with two other kids and a middle class income. They don’t want to give up there lifestyle so Emma can have a horse is what it comes down to. So they clearly say it is not going to happen. But… our main character doesn’t want to give up on her dream and tries everything she can to try to convince her parents to let her get a horse.

So I have much more ideas to this and there is more to the plot line of it but this is the gist of the story at this point.

So stay tuned for more details and eventually the first chapter!
